Alessandri has advised on the complex corporate, tax, labor, consumer protection and regulatory aspects of launching an airline as a foreign private equity investment. Equity firm Indigo Partners, the owner of Frontier Airlines, is launching JetSmart, an ultra-low-cost airline in Chile. JetSmart will commence operations with three aircraft and plans to fly nine planes by the end of 2018. It will serve various points in Chile and beyond. Indigo managing partner Bill Franke cited Chile's economic stability, aviation traffic growth and supportive regulatory environment as reasons for launching JetSmart.
