At Arias, we are proud to announce our collaboration with BAC (Banco de América Central, S.A.) in the US$34 million financing for the construction and operation of the "San Patricio" photovoltaic solar plant in Guatemala. This project, with a capacity of 66MWp, is scheduled to start operations in mid-2025.

The San Patricio project represents a significant milestone in the generation of clean energy in Guatemala. In addition to boosting the production of renewable energy, it will significantly reduce CO2 emissions and diversify the country's energy matrix, which is currently dominated by traditional energy sources. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 141 GWh of electricity per year.

Beyond the environmental impact, San Patricio also promises economic and social benefits. The construction and operation of the plant will create jobs, foster local development, and improve the quality of life in nearby communities. This project reflects our client BAC's commitment to high-impact renewable energy initiatives, transforming the region's energy landscape.

From Arias, we extend our congratulations to BAC for its participation in this important project. Our collaboration in this transaction not only reinforces our position as leaders in legal advisory for long-term project financing but also highlights our commitment to the sustainable development of the energy sector in Guatemala.

We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to continuing to support projects that promote economic growth and environmental sustainability in the region.
