Arzinger successfully defended the interests of one of the largest banks in Ukraine in a complex labor dispute with a former senior manager.
Arzinger's litigation team, representing the bank at the cassation stage, convinced the Supreme Court that the bank acted lawfully in dismissing the employee and that there were no valid reasons for his reinstatement.
In granting the cassation appeal, the Supreme Court highlighted that the court of appeal had overlooked important aspects of Ukrainian banking law when making its decision. The court set a precedent for cases involving the dismissal of bank executives due to loss of trust. It also denied the plaintiff's request for over
UAH 750.000 in lost wages for the period of forced unemployment and for compensation for moral damages.
The case was handled by a team of attorneys led by Sergii Shkliar, founding partner of Arzinger.
