Arzinger's dispute resolution team has successfully defended the interests of a major bank in Ukraine. The Administrative Court of Ukraine ruled in favour of the client in a dispute with a tax authority (so far in the trial court).

Apart from the court's workload, which triggered uncertainty in the timing of the tax case, another complicating factor was its being extremely cumbersome. The exhibits to the case file comprised 300 volumes, making up about 50 thousand pages. Besides, the litigation involved a significant amount of additional tax charges and penalties for the client.

This case may set an interesting precedent, the cancellation of tax notices due to the tax authority's violation of the procedure for appointing and conducting tax audits.

The legal position and representation of the client were entrusted to a team led by Ievgen Diadiuk, Counsel, attorney-at-law, with the constant support of Bohdan Trokhymets, Junior Associate. Sergii Shkliar, Founding Partner and Head of Arzinger's Dispute Resolution practice, supervised the project.
