Bomchil represented Banco BMA S.A.U. (“BMA”) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Argentina) S.A.U. (“ICBC”) in a new tranche of the refinancing of the offshore debt of Metrogas S.A., Argentina’s largest gas distribution company (“Metrogas”). In this time, ICBC granted a new bilateral loan for an aggregate amount of up to AR$4.2 billion to Metrogas, which will be applied to repay principal maturities of an existing cross border facility, during the second semester of 2024 and first quarter of 2025.
The transaction required, among other matters, the amendment to the existing syndicated and bilateral loans granted to Metrogas by ICBC and BMA in order to modify the amortization schedules, certain covenants assumed by the company and the interest rate applicable to such loans.
