Australia’s leading independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, has today announced that experienced practitioners James Abbott and Simon Huxley are joining the firm.
James and Simon will both join Corrs from Allen & Overy where they are currently partners in the firm’s Sydney office. These appointments follow Corrs’ announcement last week that it has hired Adam Stapledon, head of Allen & Overy’s debt and projects practice.
James has experience on a wide range of project, corporate and acquisition financings, including in the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors and in relation to the syndicated, ECA and multi-source debt financing of major Australian and South East Asian projects.
Simon specialises in construction and commercial matters in the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors, with extensive experience leading complex project finance and M&A transactions. He advises sponsors, project companies and financiers on all aspects of project development and project finance.
Corrs CEO Gavin MacLaren said: “We are very pleased to welcome James and Simon to Corrs. Along with Adam, they are widely recognised as leaders in the market and will add substantial value to our banking, finance and projects capabilities.”
