Dentons Link Legal acted for and advised National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) in relation to the financial assistance aggregating to INR 1787 Crores provided to 14 direct and indirect special purpose vehicles of Blupine Energy, a leading renewable energy services company established in India by Actis Global.

This financing supports Blupine Energy's strategically located wind and solar power projects across multiple Indian states, including Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Karnataka, which supply electricity to a diverse mix of central and state off-takers through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), underscoring their importance to India's energy infrastructure.  

The transaction was structured around a Restricted Group (RG) framework encompassing the 14 Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), involving a thorough assessment of operational assets, consistent revenue streams, and off-take arrangements, with some funding potentially allocated to repowering existing solar assets to enhance efficiency.  

Dentons Link Legal's comprehensive role included legal due diligence, structuring the transaction, drafting and negotiating financing and security documents, the transaction was led by Partner Parul Verma and Senior Associate Swapnil Sant.
