On July 15 of this year PGP were notified of a second instance ruling in which the State Council confirms that the industry and commerce tax (ICA) it was paid in due form by one of our clients, Makro Computo S.A., in the municipalities of Cota, Cali, Medellín and Barranquilla. By virtue of the above, a favorable and definitive decision was obtained to our client against the value of questioned by the Tax Authority of Bogota, which amounted to COP $6,259,360,000, equivalent to USD $1,967,222.96. According to Felipe Pinilla, founding partner and leader of the Tax area at PGP, "this constitutes a very important precedent of success for our tax law department".
