Former Undersecretary of Energy, Francisco Javier López Díaz, joined Jara Del Favero Abogados to assume the position of Director of the Energy area. Lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, he holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Pritzker School of Law at Northwestern University with a certificate in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at the same University.

 

Francisco López's main task will be to lead, develop and strengthen the Energy area in JDF, according to the new opportunities and demands of the country.

 

"The energy sector is key and strategic for the sustainable development of Chile and the world, but at the same time represents a tremendous challenge due to the need to advance in projects that promote the energy transition and the development of new industries such as green hydrogen. Therefore, I assume this new professional challenge with the conviction that it is important that national and international companies that have or seek to promote investment projects in our country, receive comprehensive, strategic advice and in accordance with current regulations. That is the way to achieve that the great potential that Chile has, materialize and materialize allowing the development, growth and welfare of our country", explained Francisco López.

 

Francisco López's professional career in the public sector dates back to the first government of President Sebastián Piñera, where he served as legal advisor to the Undersecretary of Public Health and the Budget Director of the Ministry of Finance. During Piñera's second presidential term, he was Chief of Staff and Coordinator of Health Policies at the Ministry of Public Works, and then Undersecretary of Energy for a period of almost three years.
