After years of building world-class Private Equity, Corporate/M&A, Real Estate, and related Tax practices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America, Greenberg Traurig, LLP adds Alex Tostevin as a Tax shareholder focusing on these areas in Greenberg Traurig's London office.
Tostevin arrives on the heels of Sophie Allen, who is co-chair of the now eight-lawyer London Tax Practice, and Sava Savov, who is chair of the London Private Equity Practice. He further strengthens Greenberg Traurig's tax capabilities regarding private equity, but also has broad experience in other key areas of strategic interest to the firm, including structured finance, real estate, energy, and cryptocurrencies, with particular experience in value added tax. He advises in both transactional and advisory roles and is the eighth new shareholder in Greenberg Traurig's London office in 2024. Having spent over a decade at Clifford Chance and Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Tostevin joins Greenberg Traurig from his current partner position at Dentons in London.
Greenberg Traurig Executive Chairman Richard A. Rosenbaum said, “Alex’s exceptional tax experience particularly within the private equity sphere, coupled with his technical proficiency in sectors such as real estate and energy, aligns perfectly with our strategic growth objectives across the firm. His appointment strengthens our specialised tax capabilities to ensure we can continue to deliver unparalleled service and value to our clients, as we help them navigate complex transactions and achieve greater certainty within their business operations.”
Fiona Adams, London managing shareholder and co-chair of the Global Corporate Practice, added, “We are delighted to welcome Alex to our London Tax Practice. As the eighth new shareholder and second tax shareholder to join in 2024, Alex’s appointment reinforces the robust strategic growth across our London office.”
“Greenberg Traurig’s strong track record in cross-border deals, international presence, and top-tier client base create an ideal setting for the growth of my practice,” Tostevin said. “I’m excited to be part of the London team and look forward to partnering with the firm’s global Private Equity, M&A, Real Estate, and other transactional practices.”
Alongside Allen and Savov, shareholder appointments in the London office in 2024 include Manish Das in the Antitrust Litigation & Competition Regulation Practice; Jason Hambury, Gurmukh Riyat, and Clea Bigelow-Nuttall in the International Arbitration Practice; and Duncan Hubbard in the Real Estate Finance Practice.
