The EEW Group, a leading global manufacturer of steel pipes for offshore wind applications and energy transportation, will cooperate with Sumitomo Corporation in the future. Sumitomo Corporation, one of the largest integrated trading and investment companies in the world, will invest capital in the newly-formed EEW Offshore Wind Holding with commercial effect from 1 July 2024. With Sumitomo, the family-run EEW Group has a strong strategic partner with extensive expertise in the international steel market at its side.

EEW Offshore Wind Holding is one of three newly-formed holding companies that organize the group of companies more strongly according to business areas. It bundles the monopile business with the production site in Rostock (EEW SPC) and the associated mechanical engineering activities in Siegen (AWS Schäfer).

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
