Berlin based B2B paytech start-up Mondu has raised USD 43m from investors. The series A round was led by US-based venture capital fund Valar Ventures. The raised capital will be used to further drive Mondu's expansion in Europe. 

Hengeler Mueller advised Valar Ventures on the transaction together with the US firm Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian. The team included partners Jens Wenzel (Venture Capital/M&A, Berlin), Christian Schmies (Banking Regulatory) and Hendrik Bockenheimer (Employment) (both Frankfurt), counsel Erasmus Hoffmann (Public Law, Berlin) as well as associates Ciro D'Amelio, Clemens Höhn (both Venture Capital/M&A, Berlin), Gerrit Tönningsen (Banking Regulatory) and Andreas Kaletsch (Employment) (both Frankfurt).
