Leonardo has demonstrated throughout his career the excellence valued by IA in several legal areas, standing out especially in negotiations of important cross-border loans to Bolivian entities, structuring of financial instruments such as bonds, promissory notes and preferred shares granted by Bolivian commercial companies or financial entities in favor of foreign and domestic entities, and due diligence processes to commercial companies, financial entities and banks.
Leonardo’s solid academic background supports his professional experience. He holds a Diploma in Banking Law from the Universidad CatOlica Boliviana “San Pablo” and has obtained a Diploma in the New Political Constitution of the Plurinational State of Bolivia from the Universidad Mayor de San AndrEs. He also holds a Law Degree from the Universidad CatOlica Boliviana “San Pablo”, where he graduated as a distinguished student and with honors.
In addition to his education in Bolivia, Leonardo has broadened his knowledge internationally. In May 2021, he completed a Master of Laws (LLM) at Northwestern University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Law, graduating with honors. He also holds a Certificate in Business Administration from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid, Spain.
With an outstanding professional career, Leonardo has played key roles in recognized law firms and financial entities. Before joining IA, he was a Partner at Bufete Aguirre, Quintanilla, Soria & Nishizawa, where he was part of the Corporate Commercial and Banking and Finance Departments, and co-founded the Entrepreneurship and Development Department.
Leonardo’s trajectory has received recognition, being qualified as “Next Generation Lawyer” in the areas of Banking and Finance Law and Corporate Law by Legal 500 Latin America, as well as “Rising Star Partner” in the areas of Banking Law and Corporate Law and M&A by IFLR 1000.
In addition to his professional background, Leonardo has also stood out for his participation in additional activities that enrich his profile essentially linked to the world of entrepreneurship. He has been a mentor in acceleration processes carried out by the Solydes Foundation and 13 Ventures, as well as a participant in acceleration processes Ewor Academy in Berlin, Germany and Fundación Mutualidad de la Abogacía, Madrid, Spain.
