We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Lee Kar Kheng as Litigation Partner at our Penang branch on 1st January this year. Kar Kheng’s arrival underscores the firm’s commitment to bolstering its litigation capabilities across Malaysia, including support for its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, following the strategic launch of the Penang office in January 2024. 

Kar Kheng’s appointment marks a pivotal step in our growth strategy. Her deep expertise will not only enhance our Penang branch but also elevate our litigation practice firmwide. As we expand our footprint, her role will ensure seamless, top-tier advocacy for our clients nationwide.

Kar Kheng is a seasoned litigation lawyer with a focus on shareholders’ disputes, commercial litigation, insolvency matters, contractual disputes and land disputes. She has acted in contentious winding up proceedings and represented individual shareholders in various shareholders’ disputes such as minority oppression actions and derivative actions. She has advised and acted for shareholders in mediation for settlement of legal actions. She has worked on obtaining and restraining injunctions in cases of removal of directors at the High Court and on appeal.


Kar Kheng is experienced in representing company directors involved in boardroom disputes including defending director against a claim for conspiracy, breach of confidential information and breach of fiduciary duties. Prior to joining Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong, she practiced as a litigator in a leading dispute resolution firm in Penang, Malaysia.
