Starting 1 November 2016 we further sharpened our strong position in real estate by naming Line Ravlo-Losvik (43) as the newest addition to our group of partners. Ravlo-Losvik is one of Norway’s leading real estate lawyers and is known for being commercially strong and a professionally skilled negotiator. She is also an excellent communicator in the profession in both business and professional arenas.
Real estate has been a strategic priority for Selmer for several years. Ravlo-Losvik will therefore bolster an already solid real estate team, which currently consists of eight partners and a total of 25 lawyers. Along with the recruitment of former Governing Mayor of Oslo Stian Berger Røsland in January 2016, the real estate team has the professional breadth, depth, experience and capacity on par with leading international real estate lawyer circles.
The real estate team knows Line well from many high-profile and complex cases. Examples are transactions connected with the Statoil building, where she represented Madison, the sale-and-lease back of the Siemens building, the transfer of the Aker Solutions building in Stavanger and most recently the transfer of Scandic Hotel at Fornebu. Line’s experience in the hospitality industry segment, of which the 8.3 billion Norgani transaction is the most well-known and high-profile, fits very well with Selmer’s focus on tourism properties. Line has shown that she always looks after the client's interests and is simply among the very best in the business. We are proud that she will be part of our team, says Andreas Rørvik, partner in Selmer’s Real Estate Department.
Ravlo-Losvik headed the Commercial Property Department at Wikborg Rein and specialises in complex real estate assignments and all forms of commercial property transactions such as purchase, sale, development, leasing, management, forward structures, real estate funds and syndications.
Recognised by international rating agencies such as Legal 500 and Chambers, and top-ranked by Finansavisen, Ravlo-Losvik is also highly sought after in professional circles, serving as a member of the Norwegian Bar Association's expert committee on housing and property law and as a popular speaker. Ravlo-Losvik was Norway's youngest holder of a PhD in law when she defended her doctoral dissertation in 2000 at age 26.
When we realised that Line was looking for new challenges we took action quickly. Getting Line on board the real estate team that currently consists of top names such as Andreas Rørvik, Mikkel Vislie, Even Berg, Sverre Nordlie, Mads Fuglesang, Svein Sulland and Thomas Reppe Wetting, is a perfect fit. Line has a strong theoretical background, with a PhD and large number of articles to her credit, and has extensive practical experience. She has a winning personality and a unique ability to establish deep and trusting relationships with customers, says Atle Carlsen, CEO of Selmer.
