ACCRALAW Partner Louie John D. Lood was the resource speaker at the People Management Association of the Philippines Cebu Chapter’s HR Competency Acquisition and Validation Program. It was held last 22 and 23 May 2004 at Big Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu.
Mr. Lood’s lectures delved into the exercise of management prerogatives by employers vis-à-vis the right to security of tenure of employees. He also discussed termination of employment by the employer based on just and authorized causes under the Labor Code as well as termination of employment by the employees through voluntary and involuntary resignation.
The lecture was attended by around fifty participants consisting of HR practitioners.
Litigation is Mr. Lood’s field of specialization, which includes labor litigation.
