We are pleased to announce the arrival of a team specialized in dispute resolution, with extensive experience in complex litigation and arbitration cases. Led by Rafael Francisco Alves, who joins the firm as a partner, the team includes consultant partner Beatriz Mantovani Bergamo, income partners Vanessa Winkler, Stefânia Françoso Giosa, Thabata Rodrigues, Giulia Spalletta, Juliana Costa, Thiago Loyola, and Lucas Graça, and intern Sarah Fagundes, with their base in São Paulo.
Our new partner, Rafael Francisco Alves, brings substantial experience as a lawyer and arbitrator. He also boasts an impressive academic career, with a Master’s in Law from NYU and a Ph.D. from USP. Since 2004, he has been a professor at FGV Law and has authored significant books on arbitration. Rafael serves as a director of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) and was recently elected to the CPR Institute’s Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.
Our CEO, Guilherme Rizzo Amaral, comments on the new group’s arrival: “We have long admired Rafael and his team, not only for their extensive track record of excellence in representing national and international clients in arbitrations, mediations, and judicial disputes but also for the culture they have fostered — prioritizing well-being, growth, and fulfillment within their team. Having them join our firm now significantly enhances our dispute resolution practice.”
For Rafael Francisco Alves, the enthusiasm is mutual: “On behalf of the entire team, I can say that we already feel at home. I have always admired Souto Correa’s governance and professionalism, and being part of this competent team is a source of great pride for all of us.
