Three great friends, two of them from the University, decided to embark on the adventure of forming their own law firm, encountering obstacles and lessons to be learned along the way.
The beginning was not easy. The youth of the founding partners represented a challenge in an industry where experience was decisive. They first ventured cautiously, focusing their efforts on specific tasks, such as collection management for companies. Then they found a valuable opportunity in the financial sector, where they specialized in judicial recoveries.
Thus they would discover the first key on the road to forming an outstanding firm: it was vital to gain a foothold in the legal market to be very well prepared in the matters of the niche to which they were dedicating to. That meant mastering in depth procedural, civil, bankruptcy, securities, leasing and banking matters, among others, in order to always achieve excellence and be effective in their work.
The combination of the partners' young and daring spirit, together with their eagerness to make a name for themselves in the industry, became one of the team's competitive advantages. Taking advantage of this enthusiasm, they proposed new collection strategies that attracted the trust of banks and other institutions. This approach allowed them to grow and diversify their portfolio of services to including litigation.
After 10 years of running both services in parallel, they identified that it would be more efficient to divide, giving rise to CORE Rodriguez Angobaldo, specializing in judicial recoveries. The original firm would remain for diverse litigation and arbitration.
Today Rodriguez Angobaldo Abogados, Heredia, Abanto & Varsi, is one of the most prominent legal boutiques in Peru, offering services in Litigation, Arbitration, Labour, Insurance, Consumer Protection and Health. Throughout its growth, its leaders discovered another lesson to excel: maintaining professionalism in their work, as well as being agile in management and response, were key issues to respond to the needs of the market.
Recognizing the importance of this, they made decisions to professionalize the firm, such as hiring specialized consultants and developing a solid strategic plan based on 4 pillars: profitable growth, commercial strengthening, operational efficiency and consolidation of its platform. With this perspective, the addition of a General Manager to replace some of the Managing Partner's functions and building specialized teams in areas such as administration, finance, human resources and technology, strengthened the operational infrastructure and allowed the firm to be at the forefront in a constantly evolving legal world that generates new challenges.
