Rob joined the firm’s London office from The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), a charitable independent schools trust, where he was part of the in-house legal team and his work tended to focus on contracts, estates and governance. Prior to his time with GDST, Rob worked at law firm Blake Morgan, predominantly in the commercial and charity teams.
Rob works across all areas of charity law, but will have a particular focus on constitutional and governance matters, mergers and restructures. He will work with many of the firm’s independent school clients, but also has a special interest in charities that have environmental/sustainability purposes, and animal welfare charities.
Rob said “What drew me to Stone King was the firm’s focus on openness, communication and doing the right thing. I’m already finding my work with different charities, all with such important missions, extremely fulfilling and it’s exciting to know that I’m only just getting started.”
Partner Stephen Ravenscroft said: “We’re delighted to have Rob. I can already see that his wealth of independent schools knowledge will be endlessly useful, and his passion for the environment certainly won’t go untapped. Welcome, Rob, myself and the rest of the team are looking forward to seeing what the future holds with you onboard.”
Stone King works nationally with offices in London, Manchester, Bath, Birmingham, Cambridge and Leeds. The firm is top-ranked by both independent legal guides Chambers and the Legal 500, and has been named a Best Law Firm for 2024 by The Times.
