María Genoveva Páez Pumar is an expert in tax and in regulatory matters, with particular emphasis on administrative and judicial procedures at all levels. Her efficient treatment of cases was enhanced by a different perspective when she managed the Tax Audit Section of the Municipality of Chacao (2005-2007), the most important in the Caracas area. She assists Venezuelan clients who receive regular income abroad, with regard to their tax planning, coordinating with other jurisdictions’ attorneys and accountants. She leads all the strategies and procedures against the Tax Authorities (national and local, including customs), at the administrative level and in the courts. Very experienced regarding tax audits and in evaluating fiscal risks. She currently handles more than 300 customs procedures nationally. Fluent in English.
Diego Lepervanche has a deep knowledge of corporate financial issues, significant experience in private equity and international acquisitions, and a global vision that covers different legal, structural, labor and conflict resolution issues, as well as day-to-day business matters, in different jurisdictions. He is a director of several national and international companies, and assists local and transnational clients with regard to their corporate and financial structures, due diligences, foreign investment and general corporate matters, including labor issues and litigation. He has important experience advising clients on tax efficiencies and legal structures, regarding Venezuelan law and its interaction with other jurisdictions. Master in Business Administration (MBA, 2011), Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración, IESA. Fluent in English.
Luisa Lepervanche has extensive expertise in the corporate area and has specialized in issues of corporate governance, foreign exchange controls, banking and finance, regulations and international sanctions, acquisitions and foreign investment. Before re-joining the firm in 2017, she acted as Legal Counsel for The Coca-Cola Company´s subsidiaries in Venezuela and the Caribbean. Her experience as internal counsel to a transnational company gives her an edge as she advises many national and international clients with respect to complex corporate structures, corporate law matters, corporate finance, due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, foreign investment and exchange controls regulations She teaches Topics of Corporate Law and has published articles on exchange control regulations, cryptocurrencies and securities. Fluent in English.
