Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised BEE Development GmbH (“BEE”) on its joint development agreement with Greencells Group Holdings Ltd (“Greencells”) for the development of a 240 MW Dutch-Italian photovoltaic (PV) portfolio.
The portfolio includes eight PV projects under development in the Dutch provinces of Overijssel and Limburg with a total capacity of c. 80 MW, and five PV projects under development in Italy’s Apulia region with a total capacity of c. 160 MW.
Hamburg-based BEE acquires and operates renewable energy projects, most notably in the wind and solar sectors. Its current portfolio has a combined capacity of 1.000+ MW.
As one of the largest European providers of solar power plants, Greencells Group has already been successfully involved in the construction or planning of over 2.1 GW capacity in more than 25 countries.
The WFW Italy Energy team advising BEE was led by Italy Head and Partner Eugenio Tranchino, working closely with Counsel Luca Sfrecola and assisted by Associate Francesco Vanzaghi. Tax advice was provided by Senior Associate Alfredo Guacci Esposito.
Greencells was advised by its general counsel James Tyson, assisted by Dentons’ Head of the Italian Energy practice and Partner Carsten Steinhauer and Counsel Christian Fabricatore.
