Allens has worked in PNG for over 50 years and our full service office in Port Moresby has been operating for nearly three decades, supported by a wide range of experienced PNG and industry sector specialists from our Australian office network. We practise both local and international law in PNG and represent many Papua New Guinean, foreign and multinational companies in their investments and business interests there.
Our work in PNG includes acting on PNG's most important commercial transactions and large scale projects. This experience is complemented by our close relationships with government and regulatory authorities.
We have a large team of PNG admitted lawyers in PNG and Australia, many of whom have been practising PNG law for decades. We offer our clients not only a broad range of expertise but also strong corporate knowledge and understanding of the local market throughout the firm.
Our strategic role advising on many of the largest and most complex matters in the PNG market over the past 12 months (and historically), and our ongoing roles advising leading PNG and international companies, demonstrates our expertise and capacity in PNG to deliver strategic advice to multinational clients on significant projects and transactions across the full breadth of general business law.

The firm is often mandated on the development of major power, resources and infrastructure projects and maintains constructive working relationships with government bodies, based in part on long-standing involvement in the development of Papua New Guinea legislation.
