Allens has acted on more 'mega' projects in Vietnam than any other firm. We have been involved, and are often the key legal advisers, in all major infrastructure/energy projects with foreign sponsors or lenders. Many of these projects have been country-changing transactions for Vietnam, such as the $9 billion Nghi Son petroleum refinery project, which is the largest foreign investment project in Vietnam’s history and one of the largest in South East Asia. Allens also drafted and negotiated key project documents for the first few energy and power projects in Vietnam, which have been used as templates for subsequent projects.
Our Projects, Infrastructure and Energy practice takes a 'whole of project' approach, often acting in the project company/sponsor role where we are engaged at an early stage to assist with establishment and core project agreements. We are very active in major resources, power and infrastructure projects, including acting on mergers and acquisitions and the financing of many large projects in Vietnam.
For construction and infrastructure, we provide a full range of specialist services including procurement and project development strategies, drafting and negotiating the full suite of contracting methods; advice on contract administration tendering processes, risk identification and risk allocation; and proactive dispute resolution via mediation, arbitration, expert determination, appraisal, adjudication and litigation.
