Provided by Anjarwalla & Khanna

ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna (A&K) has developed unique expertise handling large scale projects and infrastructure matters in the country and across Africa, under the leadership of Amyn Mussa, who heads A&K’s Projects and Infrastructure practice. A&K’s Projects and Infrastructure department advises on complex domestic and cross-border projects and transactions, and regularly advises sponsors, developers, contractors, funders, central and local governments on matters that span the full life-cycle of projects – from acquisition or development, to financing and hedging, to construction, completion and operation.

The team has experience in sectors such as power generation and transmission, including thermal power and all forms of renewable energy; infrastructure, including roads, ports, railways, airports, waste management, and social infrastructure; mining and minerals; water; telecommunications; oil and gas, including liquefied natural gas (LNG); project financings; and public-private partnership projects.

We have in-house expertise to advise on all aspects of project development and finance, including negotiations of government concessions and offtake contracts, construction and O&M contracts, fuel supply contracts, tax and equity structuring and debt finance. A&K has significant cross-border capabilities, acting as the sole or leading counsel on projects outside of Kenya. We are increasingly active in renewable and other energy projects exclusively outside of Kenya.
