- Our Hong Kong office provides on the ground advice on the laws of Bermuda, Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Jersey, in the areas of Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Private Client & Trusts. We can also facilitate the provision of legal advice in Guernsey, Isle of Man, Mauritius and the Seychelles.
- The team services a diverse client base, from banks and state owned enterprises, to investment funds, listed companies and high net – worth individuals. Clients come to us for our unique ability to combine global offshore expertise with a deep understanding and experience of how to do business in Asia.
- Our Corporate practice advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, including the establishment of investment funds, equity capital markets and the full range of financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border joint venture-arrangements, structured finance and debt capital markets products, banks and financing transactions and technology transactions across a broad range of emerging technologies.
- Our Dispute Resolution team provides advice and representation with respect to dispute arising in or relating to our offshore jurisdictions including Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Jersey across a wide range of shareholder disputes, insolvency and restructurings, funds disputes and M&A and privatisation disputes.
- Our Hong Kong team is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and other Chinese dialects.

Appleby houses a robust full-service team with practitioners skilled in finance, corporate, funds, disputes and capital markets matters. The team is noted especially for the prominence of its Bermuda law practice as well as its recognised BVI and Cayman Islands law capability. Notable Practitioners
Eliot Simpson has extensive experience handling all manner of commercial litigation, particularly in relation to shareholder disputes, privatisation processes, and restructuring and insolvency cases. He leads the dispute resolution practice and operates out of the Hong Kong office.
