Its key clients include Fidelity Life Assurance, AIA New Zealand and Cigna Life Insurance. The insurance team regularly advises clients on non-contentious matters, including regulatory compliance and policy wording, as well as M&A matters in the insurance industry. The team is also prominent in claims work, handling complex court cases for a broad range of clients and often engaged to advise on substantial earthquake damage claims.

Bell Gully acted for Blackstone on the sale of 100 per cent of the shares in the holding company of New Zealand licensed insurer Partners Life to Dai-ichi Life.
