About

Provided by Blank Rome LLP

A dedicated Delaware-based bankruptcy team works closely with our teams in Philadelphia, New York and Washington, D.C. We represent debtors, creditors’ committees, secured creditors, indenture trustees, asset purchasers, lien claimants, executory contract parties, and others in a broad range of bankruptcy, reorganization, and workout matters, including related litigation.

A number of our bankruptcy attorneys also are trained as finance lawyers — a unique skill set that distinguishes us from competitors. Many of our matters straddle bankruptcy and finance, so our dual training is crucial and enables us to better understand the strategy of our client’s adversary and to advise our client accordingly. Senior finance work is a core component of the restructuring practice, and has been since its inception. In this field, we frequently represent first- and second-lien secured creditors and debtor-in-possession lenders in Chapter 11 cases, with long-standing clients in this area.

The Firm's strong name in the shipping, maritime, and transportation arenas distinguishes us from other bankruptcy practices. We are particularly skilled in handling Chapter 15 cases, through which a bankrupt or insolvent business organization outside the U.S. can obtain access to U.S. courts and ancillary relief from U.S. bankruptcy courts.
