Our dedicated restructuring and insolvency team is one of the biggest and most experienced in Scotland, providing legal support that is grounded in technical precision and commercial insight.

With expertise spanning multiple sectors, our specialist team provides focused advice in relation to all corporate and personal insolvency regimes. We work with parties who are impacted directly or indirectly by financial distress and/or insolvency, including: lenders/funders, borrowers; insolvency practitioners; corporates; their directors, unincorporated organisations; public bodies; individuals; and other stakeholders.

Our experience includes equity and financial restructurings, enforcement and formal insolvency appointments, contingency planning, business loan and asset sales/acquisitions arising from insolvency or non-performance, asset recovery and challengeable transactions. We also advise directors on their duties, disputes, personal liability and disqualification.

• Advised on the airline insolvencies of Thomas Cook, Flybe and Flybmi.​
  

• Acted as lead Scottish Counsel in the administration of the Johnston Publishing Group.​
  

• Advised on major UK retail CVAs and insolvencies, including Arcadia, Debenhams, Homebase, House of Frasers, Jack Wills and Monsoon.

• Advised international clients on their restructuring options for UK based subsidiaries.​
  

• Advised various contract counterparties in relation to contracts with WrightBus Limited (in Administration).
