About

Provided by Conyers

The first international law firm in the British Virgin Islands, our BVI practice was established in 1996. From that time, we have been at the heart of the jurisdiction’s development into an International Financial Centr. The Conyers BVI team comprises over 50 highly experienced lawyers, 16 of whom are based in our BVI office, with others in Hong Kong, London and Singapore providing advice to clients in those regions.

Conyers BVI financial & corporate practice is the market leader, particularly in offshore mergers and acquisitions, having advised on both the largest M&A transaction and the largest IPO in the jurisdiction to date. We regularly advise on finance matters involving either BVI borrowers or guarantors, providing timely and cost effective assistance to allow parties to close transactions as anticipated. Our finance, banking and investment fund practice is substantial and as a client you will benefit from our long-standing relationships with leading financial institutions, investment managers and private equity houses, as well as with Government and regulators. We advise the largest BVI hedge funds as well as start-up managers, delivering the relevant advice for the nature of the fund. We were instrumental in the establishment of the regulations permitting incubator funds and approved friends and family funds.
