The tax group supports North American enterprises with distinct capacity for cross-border issues, both inbound and outbound, including public securities offerings.

Our tax group, which includes a past-chair of the ABA Tax Section’s Partnerships and LLCs Committee, has particular expertise in handling tax issues involving partnerships and LLCs classified as partnerships, ranging from partnership formations to mergers, divisions, recapitalizations and M&A transactions involving partnerships and LLCs.

The tax practice regularly advises clients in healthcare, real estate, hospitality and food and beverage sectors, with expertise in tax matters affecting companies in these industries.
 

The tax group handles Washington state tax controversy matters for local, national and international clients, and has served as amicus counsel in SALT cases before the United States Supreme Court.

The tax group has experienced significant growth in its QOF practice, having advised on QOFs formed to raise more than $500 million of investments for qualified opportunity zones.

The tax group regularly joins forces with our tax exempt organizations and employee benefits practice groups in delivering market leading cross-specialty advice to our clients.
