Gide Brussels International Trade team offers the knowledge of experienced trade lawyers combined with the expertise of former senior officials from the EU Commission (like Michel Servoz, a former Director-General of DG Employment, former Deputy Secretary-General of the European Commission and former senior official of DG Trade; and Pierre-Jacques Larrieu, former Head of Unit at DG Taxud). The team also relies (and coordinates in its daily practice) on Gide's extensive network of offices in multiple countries such as the UK, Turkey, Morocco, and China.
Gide is one of the few EU law firms to have developed its WTO and EU trade law activities to support EU businesses, in contrast with the many firms regularly aiding third countries in actions against the EU industry's interests.
The team assists its clients by lodging complaints against unfair practices such as dumping, subsidised imports, and poor enforcement of EU regulations, or by defending them in proceedings in third countries. Gide also assists its clients with the application of WTO and/or free trade agreements to remove/limit restrictive or discriminatory practices from third countries in the fields of goods, services, and investments.

Gide Loyrette Nouel has a key complainant-side practice, assisting EU steel producers with the imposition of new trade remedies or with the defence of the same in interim or expiry reviews. The law firm also handles compliance relating to export controls and sanctions. Gide has built up a strong Brussels-based team of individuals with previous experience working within the EC and WTO.

- Gide advised the Coalition against Unfair Trade in Fatty Acid on lodging anti-dumping and anti-subsidy complaints and on investigations before the EC against imports of fatty acids from Indonesia.
