Oil & Gas
In the past 12 months, Hogan Lovells has provided services to National Oil Companies (NOCs) such as Equinor and Qatar Petroleum International Limited. Both companies were awarded with deep water exploration and extraction contracts by the Mexican Government back in 2016 and 2018 and Hogan Lovells has advised them thereafter on its day-to-day operations and contractual and regulatory compliance, becoming these clients’ go-to firm on upstream regulatory matters.
Power
The Energy Practice, together with the Projects and the Project Finance practices have been supporting EnerAB, Masdar Clean Energy, EDF Renewables México, S. de R.L. de C.V. and Becquerel in different projects for the purchase and development of cogeneration and photovoltaic generation plants in Mexico. Hogan Lovells Energy Practice role consists of regulatory due diligence of the generation projects and assistance on the drafting, review and negotiation of development contracts (EPC and O&M) and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
