JSA’s direct tax practice is primarily focused on providing M&A Tax and allied advisory services to its corporate clients. These include international tax advisory and corporate restructuring. Other areas of focus are tax policy advisory and litigation support at the Income Tax Appellate Authority level and higher Courts. The practice aims to expand in other areas geographically and have a pan India footprint in the next few years.
JSA’s indirect tax practice aims at advising clients on diverse Indirect tax issues pertaining to domestic and cross-border transactions and provide litigation support at all forums.
Every business, regardless of its scale, is impacted by levies such as Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) levied on the sale of goods, Customs duties on import of goods into India from a place outside India, etc. and other levies such as value-added tax, excise duty etc. on goods outside the ambit of GST. The indirect tax and duties regime is constantly reinventing and evolving in India, the practice area is full of opportunities and challenges for businesses and individuals.
