Koffman Kalef’s Commercial Real Estate team has extensive experience representing clients in a variety of complex real estate transactions, including the purchase and sale of shopping centres, office buildings, industrial parks, and development sites. The lawyers have an in depth understanding of the requirements for preparing and filing disclosure statements under the Real Estate Development Marketing Act, and have worked on a number of strata corporation wind-ups.  They also have particular experience with commercial leasing matters. 

The Commercial Real Estate team works with a wide variety of clients, including private individuals and corporations, institutional and private landlords and tenants, developers, strata corporations, and liquidators. They also maintain excellent working relationships with local municipal governments.

Clients are guided through all aspects of development, as well as all phases and types of development, such as:

• Rezoning entitlements

• Development permits

• Land assemblies and land exchanges

• Subdivision matters, including airspace parcel subdivisions

• Strata development

• Mixed use projects

• Hotel, office, and recreational development projects

• Leasing, including the preparation and negotiation of all types of leases (ie. industrial, office, retail, and First Nations)

• Development and implementation of deal structures (ie. joint ventures, co-ownership arrangements, and limited partnerships)
