Ashima Obhan heads the TMT practice at the Firm with managing partner, Mr. Essenese Obhan. Some of the work that the TMT team undertakes: 

Data Protection and GDPR Compliance: Advising clients on issues concerning data protection and privacy to ensure that they are GDPR compliant. 

Publishing Sector: The Firm advises publishing houses on various aspects of Indian law pertaining to pre-publication reviews of manuscripts, author contracts, film option agreements, licensing arrangements, foreign investment, and periodic regulatory compliances. 

News Broadcasters: The Firm advises news organisations on regulations that apply to news entities in India, including on foreign investment matters, organisational structures and conducting pre-publication reviews of news pieces. The Firm has been advising a leading broadcaster on restructuring its Indian operations, regulatory compliances and reviewing its newsgathering workflows. The Firm has also advised media organisations on mitigation strategies during governmental search and seizure actions. 

IP Licensing: Drafting, and closing, IP licensing agreements while highlighting the legal and commercial risks.  

Transactional Work: Advising clients on M&A, private equity and joint ventures in the technology and media space. 

Technology Related Litigation: Representing clients on technology related proceedings before different Indian Courts/Tribunals and other resolution forums.
