Pestalozzi has a diverse and rapidly developing FinTech practice, providing legal, regulatory and tax advice to clients who are developing, implementing and operating new technologies in the financial sector. Our practice includes regulatory impact analysis (new regulation, regulatory and tax compliance), blockchain and cryptocurrency projects, implementation of new technologies considering regulatory requirements, licensing applications with FINMA and outside of Switzerland, and advice to entities in connection with investigations by FINMA.
Our assignments come from a broad range of legal areas including blockchain, financial regulation and banking legislation, supervisory licencing from FINMA, data protection and cyber security, financial crime, capital markets, intellectual property, corporate governance and tax. In the past two years, our practice has successfully attracted notable new clients and we have been entrusted with a number of new fintech projects. Many of these projects are considered ground-breaking or have been awarded.
Pestalozzi is active in advising clients as to InsurTech and new developments and business models, such as advising insurers on legal implications of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. For example, Pestalozzi was the first in Switzerland to employ the AI document/discovery software Luminance in an insurance coverage dispute.
