Despite challenging times, the Competition Law practice group has continued to grow and has secured increasing interest from clients in a wide variety of industry sectors, including automotive, banking, consumer goods and services, insurance, manufacturing, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and technology.
The strength of the team lies in its ability to dive into and comprehend the objectives of diverse clients’ business practices and initiatives and to apply the principles of Competition law thereto in the advice to them. The aim is always to try to help clients to achieve their objectives without compromising on adherence to the law.
To assist clients to minimise their risks of exposure to sanctions and/or litigation, part of the work is focused on conducting periodic competition audits and intensive due diligence on clients’ business operations, agreements and policies so as to ensure their compliance with the Competition Act.
When necessary, the team represents clients in hearings before the regulator, namely, the Malaysian Competition Commission and in the Courts.
