Our firm has a comprehensive real estate practice serving clients in commercial transactions across the Carolinas and nationwide. We have an emphasis on build-to-suit developments for our clients, including multiple retailers/restaurants chains, shopping centers and large distribution facilities for Fortune 50 companies. We provide legal and practical advice to clients at every stage of virtually all types of commercial real estate transactions, including retail shopping centers and power centers, industrial facilities, master-planned residential communities, multifamily, office buildings, mixed-use developments and condominiums, hospitality, and real estate funds and capital-raising activities.
We represent commercial real estate lenders, including banks and life insurance companies, and private real estate investment funds, in preparing loan documents, in title and due diligence review, and in closing loans, including construction loans, term loans and syndicate facilities.
We have extensive experience representing clients in obtaining zoning approvals and conditional and special use permits to allow the development of a wide range of projects. We represent clients before boards of adjustment in connection to requests for variances and appeals of interpretations; in drafting and obtaining approval of amendments to zoning ordinance text; and on annexation matters.
