Provided by Santamarina y Steta SC
Our firm maintains a leading position in the arbitration, litigation and ADR fields, and we handle both international and domestic arbitrations, under various arbitration rules. Members act both, as party representatives and arbitrators in ad hoc and administered proceedings. As part of the ADR we provide advice on mediation, the creation and execution of Dispute Boards and the use of expert opinions, among others.
S+S additionally handles litigation including appeals and matters before the Federal Supreme Court of Justice. Cases mainly involve infrastructure projects, construction, gas and energy, class actions, shareholders’ disputes, recovery of past due portfolios, joint-ventures, international sale of goods, software licenses, insurance, assignment of rights, commercial transactions in general, and civil liability and pain and suffering matters. Some of such cases are cross-border disputes.
We have represented clients in arbitration proceedings before several private and public administering authorities, including: International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); International Court of Arbitration; National Chamber of Commerce of Mexico City (CANACO); and the Mexican Arbitration Center (CAM). Some of our arbitration lawyers are members of one or more of the Mexican arbitration institutions, including ICC-Mexico and CANACO.
