Provided by Scoolidge Peters Russotti & Fox LLP
Scoolidge Peters Russotti & Fox litigates complex and commercial cases in federal courts across the country and in the commercial and appellate divisions of the New York state courts. With three federal court clerkships between them, department heads Peter Scoolidge and Peter Fox are comfortable representing plaintiffs and defendants, and have had success for both sides -- including by winning the dismissal with prejudice of a $170 million putative securities class action against the developers of a well-known cryptocurrency.
The firm's litigation practice is broad. In addition to pure commercial cases, we handle partnership and corporate governance disputes, business torts, lender liability cases, customer-FCM disputes, professional services fee disputes, personal services disputes (especially in the entertainment sector), and commercial real estate litigation for clients across a range of industries.
Mr. Fox frequently litigates in bankruptcy court, where he typically represents defendants in avoidance and other debtor-initiated adversary proceedings. He has also represented a foreign representative in a contested Chapter 15 case, earning a victory that resulted in the precedent-setting decision, In re Agro Santino, OOD, 653 B.R. 79 (Bankr. S.D.N.Y. 2023).
