About
Provided by Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP
Antitrust law has been a premier practice for decades at Sheppard Mullin, as one of the firm’s name partners co-founded the ABA’s Antitrust Section. That tradition continues today with our highly ranked global antitrust and competition practice, including more than 50 competition lawyers in California, Washington D.C., Brussels, London, Seoul and Shanghai.
The group regularly handles investigations by the U.S. DOJ, the FTC, State AG’s and international enforcement officials. In the U.S., we counsel clients and handle litigation involving the federal Sherman, Clayton and Robinson-Patman Acts, and state antitrust statutes including California’s Cartwright Act, Unfair Practices Act and Unfair Competition Act. Internationally, we advise on EU competition law and state aid, UK and EU member states’ antitrust and regulatory matters, and China’s Anti-Monopoly law.
Our strengths include:
- Defending DOJ cartel investigations and cases, including matters involving price-fixing, market allocation, bid-rigging, no-poach, and wage-fixing
- Representing clients with private antitrust lawsuits, including multidistrict litigation and class actions, dealing with a variety of claims including claims under Sherman Action Sections 1 and 2
- Advising clients on antitrust issues in connection with mergers, including second requests
- Counseling on complex antitrust issues in the healthcare industry, including joint ventures and other collaborations
- Antitrust audits and antitrust compliance programs
