The Energy and Infrastructure team of 27 lawyers has advised on some of the most complex energy and infrastructure projects, including projects that were the first of their kind in Vietnam. VILAF has advised lenders, sponsors, and buyers in relation to BOT power projects, BOT, and BOO water projects, PPP projects, independent power plants, expressway projects, metro line project, and port projects.
Most recent work highlights include:
- Advised in LNG projects in Vietnam such as Omon II Gas Fired Power Project, Son My Terminal and Son My 2 BOT LNG to power projects, a LNG project in Ninh Thuan, etc.
- Advised international lenders/sponsors in series of BOT Power Project such as Phu My 2.2, Nghi Son 2, Nam Dinh 1, Mong Duong 2, Van Phong 1, Vung Ang 2, Vinh Tan 1, Vinh Tan 3, Duyen Hai 2, among others
- Advised in many renewable projects developed/invested by GE Renewable Energy, Scatec Solar, B.Grimm Power, J-Power, Super Energy, BIM Group, Shizen Energy, EGP Green Power, etc.
- Advised SCG Chemicals in the acquisition of equity interests from Qatar Petroleum International and PetroVietnam and in the financing arrangement afterward for the US$5.7B Long Son Petrochemical Complex Project
- Advised IFC in the implementation of a PPP-based human capital center project
- Advised a Korean investor in the HCMC Metro 5-2 and Vietnam-Danang LRT Project
