Womble Bond Dickinson’s IP Practice is comprised of 120+ lawyers and patent agents with experience in patent, trademark and copyright procurement, counseling and litigation; trade secrets; IP strategy and consulting; complex IP licensing and technology transactions; and data security and privacy. ​We manage worldwide portfolios for numerous global companies, such as Bank of America, Remington Outdoor, BASF, Graphic Packaging International, and others. We currently perform patent and trademark prosecution for over 2,100 clients and handle over 28,000 active records. 


Our Patent Prosecution Team includes more than 70 attorneys and agents who practice in the broad disciplines of chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology; electrical and computer technology; energy; and mechanical engineering and materials science. Many of our attorneys were practicing research scientists and engineers, and several are former patent examiners with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. We prepare and file nearly 2,000 patent applications per year for our clients, including over 1,000 foreign patent applications.
