CMS-WLL (Mexico) has a team of specialists with extensive experience in energy, projects/infrastructure, real estate, project finance, corporate law, life sciences, technology, media and communications and environment. Main Areas of Practice

Energy:  

CMS-WLL offers the most qualified, international expertise in Mexico in electricity and in exploration and production of deepwater hydrocarbons. Having advised the Energy Ministry on the implementation of the Wholesale Electricity Market and the restructuring of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), including the drafting of the Electricity Market Bases and Business Practice Manuals, CMS-WLL is currently advising some of the key players in the industry (see Clients list below).

Projects/Infrastructure: 

CMS-WLL specialises in all aspects required for an exemplary infrastructure practice. From the design and preparation of constitutional, legislative and regulatory reforms, to financing and execution of public infrastructure projects, including their structuring and allocation, as well as dispute resolution. The team of lawyers is highly skilled in public-private partnership programs (PPPs) for the development of public infrastructure including the flagship Train Maya Project. Some of its members have participated in the proliferation and improvement of this type of program, both in Mexico and abroad.

Real Estate: 

CMS-WLL has experts with over 30 years of experience collaborating with developers, institutional investors and lenders on the development of industrial, residential, hospitality, office and mixed-use real estate projects, including real estate financing and commercial real estate financing. In recent years, the team has participated in some of the largest real estate projects in Mexico, including innovative and pioneer projects, many of which have involved highly complex contracts.

Banking & Finance: 

CMS-WLL advises lenders and borrowers on obtaining all kinds of loans necessary to implement projects, especially infrastructure projects. CMS-WLL has been engaged by federal and local governments, private developers, national and international banks and other financial institutions for the financing and execution of projects.

Environmental Law:
