Allan B. Moore is the most senior partner in Covington’s Arbitration Practice Group, which he co-chaired for 10 years (2008-2018), and currently co-chair of the firm’s Energy Industry Group. He has particular expertise in energy, insurance, mining, and corporate transactional disputes, and he has served as lead counsel before tribunals and courts throughout the U.S. and in disputes in Europe, Canada, the UK, East Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Africa.
Mr. Moore has helped clients recover more than $2 billion in damages awards, fee awards, and settlement payments in various commercial, investment, and insurance coverage disputes. He has served as lead counsel for successful parties in ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, DIFC-LCIA, SCC, AAA, CPR, and ad hoc arbitrations involving both common law and civil law systems, as well as in ICC expert proceedings.
He is a member of the LCIA Court; a former member of the Executive Committee of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA); a peer-selected “Distinguished Neutral” for arbitration and mediation in “Energy, Oil & Gas,” “Insurance,” and “Insurance - Policyholder Coverage,” with the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR); and a rostered arbitrator with the Institute for Energy Law (IEL).
