Andrew Smulian is Chairman Emeritus of Akerman. He served as Akerman's Chairman and CEO for 12 years, transforming the firm through strategic growth, a commitment to advancing client-driven initiatives, and a focus on building a culture of collaborative innovation. Under Andrew's leadership, Akerman grew into a powerhouse law firm with more than 700 lawyers and business professionals serving clients across the Americas from 24 offices nationwide. Andrew joined the firm in 1995, becoming one of South Florida's most highly regarded real estate lawyers. He has counseled clients in connection with billions of dollars of complex real estate transactions. Andrew is a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and Law 2023, serves on the board of the United Way of Miami-Dade County, and is a trustee of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami.
