Bertie is a partner and co-head of the farms and estates team. He has extensive experience in advising clients looking to purchase estates, farms, country houses and grouse moors, as well as a strong track record in selling estates and advising on future planning for sellers.

In addition to his transactional practice, he advises landowners on a variety of management and succession issues and Bertie thrives on issues and challenges that face landed families. He is known for his ability to empathise with the client and their family.

Bertie is very interested in the future of farming and land management, and has regular exposure to the full spectrum of land uses and commercial drivers that influence land management choices today; from development, through commercial agriculture, to rewilding and natural capital solutions.
