Charles practices all aspects of environmental law and also specializes in mining law. Charles advises businesses on mine acquisitions and divestitures, commercial agreements (earn-in, royalties and JVs), mine reclamation, and mineral rights issues. He has extensive expertise in environmental aspects of corporate, commercial and property transactions, project development, regulatory compliance and liability issues. Charles advises on contaminated property, permitting, environmental impact assessments, investigations, enforcement under and defending prosecutions under environmental legislation, waste management issues, environmental audits, officer/director/parent company liability. Charles is also experienced in negotiating agreements with indigenous groups.
