Damian Karwala is a qualified legal advisor and senior associate in the IP/TMC practice. For over 15 years he has advised clients on the protection of personal data and business secrets, cybersecurity, IT and computer law, e-commerce, copyright and digitalisation. Damian assisted clients from the finance and insurance sector, telecommunications, pharmaceutical and TMC sector, including leading banks, insurance companies, software houses and operators of major websites and online services.

On the IT side, Damian has assisted numerous of clients, including telecommunication operators, insurers and banks, in implementation of IT solutions (e.g. ERP, CRM, BI solutions). He has also provided day-to-day legal counseling for several of Polish software houses providing IT solutions to, e.g.: aviation industry and telecommunication industry.

Damian has also extensive experience in conducting EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance audits, implementing internal policies and instructions, and in developing strategies of international personal data transfers and data processing as part of capital groups (e.g. for marketing and cross-selling purposes). He successfully represented clients before the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection and administrative courts.

Damian regularly speaks at sector conferences, and conducts training sessions and dedicated workshops.
