Dan Bartfeld is a partner in the New York office of Milbank LLP and is the Chair of the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group (which has over 140 dedicated energy/infrastructure attorneys) and is a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee.

Mr. Bartfeld's practice focuses primarily on the representation of investment firms/portfolio companies, financial institutions, multinational companies and developers in a wide range of energy transition, power (renewable/conventional), digital infrastructure, transportation infrastructure/logistics, oil/gas/midstream/shipping and energy-related matters in the US, Latin America and globally.

Mr. Bartfeld has led the Milbank team in many of the largest and most high-profile energy/infrastructure matters in these regions. He has particular expertise in transactions throughout the capital structure, as well as representation of US, Asian and European-based lenders and investors (financial sponsors and strategics) focusing on project development, financing and M&A activities (platforms and specified assets).

Mr. Bartfeld is a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences and is recognized by a number of publications as one of the world's leading project finance lawyers.

His recent representations include:

• many of the most significant energy transition and power-related transactions (solar, wind, offshore wind, storage, hydro and conventional) in the US, Latin America and globally -- involving over $20 billion of capital costs.

• a wide variety of digital infrastructure projects (chips, towers, fiber, data centers, wireless) throughout the capital stack.

• a wide variety of M&A and acquisition financings in the energy transition, digital infrastructure, renewables, power, oil/gas and energy sectors.

• a wide range of LNG-related projects (including LNG-to-Power and associated vessels) -- involving over $15 billion of capital costs.

• a wide variety of transportation infrastructure/logistics projects (airports, roads, ports, mass transit and water projects).

• a wide range of vessel-related transactions globally -- including LNG vessels, FPSOs, FSRUs, drillships/semi-submersibles and accommodation vessels.

• a wide variety of natural resource/commodity-focused transactions (including pre-export financings and export credit agency financings) -- involving steel, iron ore, copper and other commodities.).
